Does traditional manufacturing have what it takes to make it in the great reset? Very few will still say that traditional manufacturing methods alone will compete in today's market. The future is in "just in time technologies", like additive manufacturing and CNC based manufacturing which helps to decrease the time from idea to creation and finally fulfillment.
In the past you might have called up a machinist shop or engineering department to receive a quote on a part that needed to be replaced or a new design that needs to be manufactured at scale. Then waited till your quoted order reached its slot in the production line months to a year after commissioning the request. Then when you finally receive your product in preparation for mass production your product might be out of spec or some design error has now come to the surface in the final product and have to restart the entire process.
This can bring the sanest to person to a nervous breakdown. With clients and customers breathing down your neck and management or supervisors trying to ensure client satisfaction. Keeping in mind that no one in this process is purposely trying to cause you this headache it is just the nature of the process and constraints in current manufacturing methods.
